Dismount

When in a mount, performing maneuvers will often cause one to exit the mount and end up in a different mount which may be more complex. A dismount, however, is a maneuver which will exit the mount and lead fairly directly to an open mount, a trapeze, or a similarly basic mount.
The simplest form of dismount is to drop everything and let the string formations disappear. However, some mounts, such as the wrist mount, are not as conducive to this approach as others. In fact, in the case of the wrist mount, the most commonly taught dismount is not the simplest one.
Just as there are fancy entrances to mounts, it is also common to see fancy dismounts. Some examples:
